How it all started…
Sam and Ethan, 2 best friends in Japan and Britain, separated by 9194.182 km. Sam used to always ask Ethan for snacks and souvenirs from Japan, as they are hard, expensive, or in some cases impossible to get in the UK.
All snack boxes from popular sites take weeks to arrive in the UK, with the shipping often costing more than the box itself. Cheap snack boxes from Amazon, for example, were of very poor quality—the snacks in the box were worth no more than 5% of its cost, which was disappointing.
For this reason, we decided to create a UK-based company importing directly from Japan. Thanks to this idea, we managed to secure funding in addition to our savings, which helped us to get started.
We are both international business graduates who understand the complexities of this type of business, and this business idea aligns with our vision and the main reason we founded this company. We want the world to come together as if it were one place; people need to understand other cultures and their differences. By selling snacks from Japan to the UK, we are facilitating this—allowing people to experience the taste of Japan from over nine thousand kilometres away without having to pay a fortune or wait ages.
In the early stages of the idea, we created many prototypes and designs featuring different products, which we shared with family and friends to gather feedback. This process resulted in a highly refined list of products and a very appealing design.
We purchase in bulk from our artisans, placing orders well in advance since they produce them specifically for us at that time. These products are not stored in Japan; they are made fresh and then shipped in bulk directly to the UK so you pay less money and wait less time since your order comes straight from the UK.
We don't buy from common suppliers; instead, we source from artisans who only sell their products at train stations in certain parts of Japan. We aim to provide the most special products so you can experience the true taste of Japan rather than common brands.
The downside? The products expire quickly because they are natural, so you need to eat, enjoy, and share them as soon as possible.
